NRLX UPGRADE UPDATE 2018
In exciting news for stakeholders, phase one of the first stage has opened and is being used. The area has a roof and soft flooring. Included is 12 new receival pens, 10 new dual-purpose pens, 50 new selling pens and 20 refurbished selling pens. There are also two new fourway pneumatic drafts, each with additional drafting pens.
Phase two of stage one construction is now not far off completion, with workers only having had a short break over Christmas and New Year. This phase will see a new roof plus a refurbishment of existing pens and soft flooring throughout.
Stage two construction is expected to start mid year. This stage will see a roof go over the delivery pens and soft flooring throughout. There will also be upgrades to both the weigh and dip areas, helping to improve cattle flow and efficiencies. There will continue to be some disruption through the construction period, however the result will see significant benefit to all stakeholders. Council appreciates the efforts of everyone in getting through this period. Council also acknowledges the good work done by the agents in assuring sales are run with minor disruption to normal sale practices and timeframes.
